Staying safe on Job Walla
Job Walla connects people; it does not employ anyone or vouch for any agreement. These are the rules that keep local hiring safe.
Never pay anyone to get a job
No registration fee, no deposit, no “processing charge”, no payment for a uniform or tools before you start. Anyone asking for money in exchange for work is running a scam. Job Walla never charges workers, and no genuine employer will either. Report them and walk away.
For workers
Meet at the workplace. Visit the shop, house or site in daylight before agreeing to anything. Be cautious of anyone who will only meet somewhere else.
Agree the wage before you start. Fix the amount, how often you are paid, and the hours. Send it on WhatsApp so there is a written record both sides can see.
Tell someone where you are going. Share the address and the employer's number with family before a first visit.
Never hand over original documents. An employer may look at your Aadhaar or licence. Nobody needs to keep it.
For employers
Check identity yourself. Ask for ID and confirm the person in front of you matches the profile that applied.
Ask for references. For work inside your home, call someone they have worked for before.
Pay what you posted. The wage in your listing is what workers planned around. Changing it after someone arrives is the fastest way to lose trust in a locality this size.
What the verified badge means
A verified badge means we checked the account against the details given at signup. It is not a background check, a skills test, or a guarantee of conduct. Treat it as one signal among several — reviews, references, and your own judgement still matter.
Reporting a problem
If someone asks you for money, misrepresents a job, or behaves unsafely, report it through the contact page with the profile name and what happened. We remove accounts for this.
For anything involving immediate danger, threats or a crime, contact the police on 112 first. Job Walla is not an emergency service.
